When schooling multiple children, look for paths to make the most sensible use of your resources.

Unit studies are a good way of teaching multi-aged kids at the same time – even with different learning styles. They are especially convenient when your children are close in age.

Expect more from older youngsters and less from younger ones.

what’s self-teaching curriculum?

Curriculum that can be completed independently by scholars, with minimal teacher participation. Lessons are written in a conversational style and can be completed without the requirement for constant or direct teacher instruction.

Your student gains independence and you? More time.

Your children can do many strange roles around the house.

Fetch or organize washing, clean the toilet, play with the baby, change a unclean nappy ( always on the top of my list ) or any other project that needs completing.

While your older kids work on lessons, use the time to complete simple projects and housework that your preschoolers can help with.

Do’school’ while working on household chores. Small children like to help with washing – sorting colors, pushing buttons, adding soap, putting clothes into baskets and matching socks.

Nothing compares to the fun interaction and relationship building that occurs while cooking in the kitchen with children! Learning occurs and meals get prepared at the same time, even though with a bit more mess.

to raise your home school organization, find projects or hands-on activities that everyone can do together. Your younger children will love to participate in your older student’s activities.

Buddy-up your older children with the younger ones. The numerous questions babies ask will brace what your older children know and working together helps everyone to develop patience.

It does take additional work, pliability and patience to achieve a small measure of home faculty organization. When schooling multiple children, especially with preschoolers around, home faculty organization regularly looks like disorganization.

Help answer the question about homeschooling benefits

What are some benefits to allowing a child to go to public school VS. homeschooling?
My son is 11 and struggles in Math. My sister-in-law is trying to convince me that if I were to homeschool him, he would do so much better. My nephew and neice are supposedly A students in every subject under her tuturing, but they are socially delayed. I want my son to experience life, not shield him from it, even though he may have struggles every so often. What do you think?

  1. I don't know how long you've been homeschooling..but there is a program known as a virtual charter school. It uses k-12 curriculum (which is the bomb, by the way) and is fully accredited. If you don't like the program or the curriculum the student can easily be moved back into the public school system flawlessly. Students use a master teacher that they meet with once a month and oversees the work they've done.
The school is viewed just like a public school and so are all of the test scores, awards, diplomas..etc
We used the California version of it and loved it. If you have any other questions on virtual homeschooling, feel free to ask me!
